1. About this policy

Rakna ("we," "us," or "the app") cares about the privacy of everyone who uses it — especially the seniors and families who trust us with their information. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and who we share it with when you use the Rakna app or website.

2. Information we collect

When you sign up and use Rakna, we may collect the following:

• Account information — the name, email address, or phone number used to sign up, your LINE User ID and profile picture (if you sign in with LINE), Google Account (if you sign in with Google), or Apple ID (if you sign in with Apple), depending on your chosen sign-in method
• Family / circle information — relationships between members of a family circle, birthdays, and roles (senior, relative, or buddy)
• Health check-in data — day-to-day wellness notes the user records themselves, such as sleep, mood, meals, and activity (this is self-reported wellness information, not clinical or medical data)
• Photos — images a user chooses to upload, such as in the Moments feed or the greeting card creator
• App activity — check-ins, notifications read or responded to, and other basic in-app activity
• Device identifiers for notifications — push notification tokens (via Firebase Cloud Messaging or Web Push)

3. How we use this information

• To make the app work — showing wellness status to family members, sending greeting cards, managing family circles
• To send relevant notifications, such as medication reminders, missed check-in alerts, or birthday reminders
• To authenticate accounts and keep them secure
• To improve and troubleshoot the app

We do not use your information for personalized advertising, and we do not sell personal data to third parties.

4. How information is shared

Rakna works with a small number of service providers to make the app function. Your information may be processed by:

• Supabase — our database and authentication provider. All account and check-in data is stored here.
• LINE Corporation — when you sign in with LINE or receive notifications through LINE
• Google / Firebase — for Google sign-in and for delivering push notifications on Android
• Apple — when you choose to sign in with Apple ID on an iOS device

These providers process data on our behalf only and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes. We do not share your information with advertisers or data brokers.

5. Data storage and security

Data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS) and stored on Supabase's infrastructure. Access is limited to those who need it to operate the service. No system is 100% secure, so we encourage you to keep your account credentials private.

We retain your information for as long as your account is active. You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your data — including closing your account and deleting all associated data — by contacting us at support@rakna.me. We will act on deletion requests within a reasonable time.

7. Children's privacy

Rakna is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information directly from children. Any senior's information in the app is entered by an adult family member.
